Ko Sensei is a patient and engaging teacher. He is a teacher that prioritises hands-on learning as compared to the more traditional rote learning method. Rather than regurgitating textbook content for his students, his class comprises of different types of activities, such as conversing, quiz and mini games. This teaching style stimulates the brain, creating a more effective learning environment, where his students can pick up faster. His teaching style also heavily emphasizes on practicality, and students can often find what he teaches to be useful when conversing Japanese day to day. Classes are immersive, as he places a large focus on proper intonation and grammar techniques, simulating actual Japanese conversations one might face in the future. His usual style of one-to-one conversation creates opportunities to hone student’s overall speaking capabilities, which is a skill that requires patience and dedication from the teacher’s perspective.

Have been learning Japanese with Ng Sensei at Nami academy since February 2024. Ng Sensei is very proficient teacher who often goes the extra mile to impart her knowledge to her students. Her patient nature ensures that students of all calibre will be able to grasp the concepts taught in class. She conducts her lessons with vigor and be enthusiasm, never a dull moment during her lessons.

Ko Sensei puts in a tremendous amount of effort for his students. In an industry where it is common to see a teacher solely rely on a singular textbook or slideshows, Ko Sensei creates his own notes, assignments and online resources for his students to utilise and improve on themselves. This can be seen from his self-tailored quizlet word list, his own slides, and a multitude of resources he generously shares to his students. Ko Sensei is also always willing to help his students even if his lessons are over. This shows that Ko Sensei cares for his students outside of his lessons and wants his students to improve and be fluent as quickly as possible.

Ko Sensei is patient and understanding. Studying a new language is a daunting task, and not many can pick it up immediately. Ko Sensei understands this, and frequently motivates his students to continue trying and do their best, especially when they are stuck at a certain part or topic. Ko Sensei also praises his students when they overcome a said challenge or perform exceptionally well in his work. By doing so, students will gain an affinity towards the language and his lessons, enhancing their learning experience, resulting in a positive attitude while learning Japanese. Accompanied with his cheerful character, lessons with Ko Sensei can be imagined as learning Japanese with a friend instead. Ko Sensei also understands that his students have their own personal life, and sometimes are unable to keep up or complete his work. He can adapt and adjust accordingly, and students will not be lost and having a hard time studying something they are pursuing professionally or as a hobby.
Koh sensei and class tutor, Ng Sensei are both exceptionally personable, helpful, and service-oriented. They responded quickly with aid, feedback, and support, making each class a positive experience. I would gladly recommend their classes to friends! Keep up the great work!
