ABOUT US
Our Methodology
1. Vocabulary is a big part of learning a language. That is why at Nami Japanese Academy, all students have access to a paid online spaced repetition software, Quizlet, to help them memorise words quickly and easily.
2. Grammar is important in stringing sentences together. At Nami Japanese Academy, students are given opportunities to exercise the grammar they learn through class activities, conversations and quizzes.
3. Reading is key to understanding texts like newspapers. Students at Nami Japanese Academy are given adequate practice with numerous reading comprehensions and exercises given throughout the course at regular intervals.
4. Listening is a section students often struggle with due to the fast speed of conversations. Therefore, we provide our students with sufficient practices every lesson. For example, after learning a few grammar structures, students will be tested on their listening ability of those grammar structures. This is a frequent exercise done in classes at Nami Japanese Academy.

Individual Classes
Wish to self study but need some guidance every now and then? Wish to learn in an individual setting? Select our individual lessons so teachers can customise lessons to your learning speeds and strengths.
Group Classes
Improve your speaking and listening skills with our group classes. Group classes take advantage of a group setting with activities like conversation practices and pair work so students can learn from one another and practice speaking in Japanese more with friends with the common interest of learning Japanese.
JLPT Preparatory Classes
Our tailor made JLPT courses are structured in a systematic manner ensuring that you will be well prepared with our specially curated JLPT notes and exercises that will be distributed throughout the course. All the 4 components of JLPT, vocabulary, grammar, reading and listening will be covered every class.
Resources We Follow at Nami Japanese Academy
We follow teaching methods recommended by the Japan Foundation and synthesise their resources with our lessons, such a "Erin's Challenge!".
We use teaching materials from the Bunka Institute of Language such as the textbook they have published, 文化初級日本語.
We follow some textbooks from 3A corporation such as
"新完全マスター", or Shinkanzen Master, on top of other textbooks to supplement your learning.
Our syllabus follows that of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test so students can choose get qualified in Japanese upon completion of our courses.
